What I am not
Good at grammar (so please excuse my grammar)
If you would of asked me yesterday I would of told you no way in a million years would I of ever started a blog. The reason I did though is that I saw a good friend the other day and I asked what she was doing, and she said that she was blogging. She told me that she thought that I would be good at blogging, and it has been on my heart a little bit every since.
The reasoning behind this blog is simple. Their is an expression that I have heard my entire life, and that is when life throws you a curveball you sit on it and you hit the ball to opposite field. Which means in baseball terms you wait back just a hair longer because the difference between a fastball and a curveball could be up to 12 mph and with the plate only being 60 feet 6 inches from the mound that make a heck of a difference. Then you hit the ball and run for your life, but this expression is not always true. What happens when someone throws you a curveball and you swing so hard almost coming out of your shoes and you totally miss the ball, or even worse what happens when you just watch the ball go by and you don't even swing and it is a called third strike. In a scorers book he would wright down a backwards K which means that he struck out looking. With that being said...baseball is a game of failure. If you go to the plate and you hit the ball 3 out of 10 times over the course of your career you are not only considered a good player, but one day you will probably make a trip up to Cooperstown, NY and walk across and be inducted into the Hall of Fame. Then you are considered one of the greatest players to ever play the game.
How can that be? How can you make a 30% and be considered not good, but great?? But even though you fail you still have to stand up that next at bat and clean the dirt off of your spikes and get ready for another pitch.
Everything is not negative when it comes to baseball, and I don't want this to be a Debbie downer blog about how YOU ARE GOING TO FAIL IN LIFE because just like baseball is a game of failure. It also has a lot of success for instance I am not sure that their would be a better feeling in the world then being at the plate in the bottom of the ninth inning and hitting a homerun to win a game.
My prayer is that I see every play, player, umpire, position and game. Then I find verses from the Bible that relates to that and I show you nothing other than Romans 5:8 "but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us."
